St. Hyacinthe Collector's and Toy fair 2k4
April 24th, 2004: St. Hyacinthe, Quebec
"Do you want a banana?"
-- passerby to TC7410 in an Imperial gunner costume
Well, spring has sprung and the Quebec contingent of the 501st has defrosted! Several local 501st members recently decided to get together and head to the St.Hyacinthe Collectors and Toy Fair. The guilty parties included TC7410, TB7445, TI8630, and myself TI426. We were ably supported by two other costumers from the newly formed Alliance Imperiale, Marie-Claude (Jedi) and Gabriel (skiff guard and bounty hunter).
As always, it was an amazing experience to see people smile in recognition of the characters we were dressed as. Also amusing are the enthusiastic parents who want their kids to pose with the bad guys. In addition, we also received a very enthusiastic reception from some WW2 re-enactors who were tickled pink to pose with us.
The usual comments were heard. The Tie-fighter costume being referred to as Darth Vader has become de rigueur.
I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I certainly did. Thanks to TC7410 for organizing this event. What a way to continue the 2004 Star Wars season!!
