SFX Montréal 2003
November 14-16th, 2003: Montreal, Quebec

This was the first year SFX expanded beyond Toronto into Montreal. SFX Montreal is similar to SFX Toronto and was held in conjunction with an Anime and Comic book show. The 501st.ca was invited to be part of the show and we happily obliged.

The guests were: Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca, Star Wars), Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi, Star Trek: The Next Generation), Ethan Phillips (Neelix, Star Trek: Voyager), Robert O'Reilly (Gowron, Star Trek: The Next Generation), Leni Parker (Da'an, Earth: Final Conflict), and a whole pile of comic and anime guests.

The Con was a blast, and we surprised many people in Montreal. It was a rare opportunity for our troopers from Ontario and Quebec to meet up and resulted in the largest gathering of 501st.ca members to date at a convention. The troops for SFX were BH8311, TB7742, TK551, TB878, TD741, TI829, TS710, TK7273, TI426, TC7410, TB7445, and TI8630. Our former biker scout Nicole (TB1124) also showed up with her son. It was great to see them again.

Legion friends Peter and Angie Mayhew were presented with Canadian Garrison shirts which they wore on Sunday. Shirts were also donated to Leni Parker and her sister Sarah, since they liked us so much, and didn't mind that we inadvertently blocked their table every so often (sorry). Thanks to Adrian for donating the shirts to the Parker sisters.

We would like to thank James Armstrong from Hobbystar for getting us involved in SFX. We all had a great time and look forward to more shows in the future. It was a pleasure working with Hobbystar.
