Getting the Legion Together for Photos

The sight of almost a hundred Stormtroopers, Scout troopers, Royal guards, Tie Pilots, AT-AT drivers, Death Star Gunners, Tusken Raiders, Bounty Hunters, and Rebel Scum marching down the street on August 28th must have been confusing to the few citizens of Atlanta. They probably thought reality had crumbled and that Atlanta had been invaded by the Empire, but the smart ones would have realized that it must have had something to do with DragonCon.

The members of the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, and their friends attending D*Con 2001 gathered in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency on Saturday afternoon, and proceeded to march about one block to gather for "organized" group shots, the first ever. Click the areal photo on the left for some more detail.

Tim (TK1066) organized the whole group photo event. I (TK878) had volunteered to be the official group photographer. James (Moff Sienar) and Jimmy (TK1025) of the GA garrison scouted for suitable, nearby locations for the photo shoot. Kurt also helped to wrangle the people in place. Special thanks goes to Avatar of the Rebel Legion for being my camera assistant, and lugging my equipment around Atlanta. Thanks also go out to Lynn (TB5150) of DDS, Chris (TB111) and the other garrison commanders who spread the news about the group photo.
