Everyone loves a parade. The 3rd annual DragonCon parade took over the streets in downtown Atlanta for another year. There was a large assortment of costumes based off of various comic books, movies and animation. Some of the larger groups included the Lord of the Rings costumes, and as usual, the 501st and Rebel Legion.

This year marked the 4th annual D*Con 501st Legion photo, and the 3rd successful taking of it! For the Rebel Legion, this marked the 2nd annual legion photo. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts (I assume), the turn-out for these photos was considerably lower than many expected. This actually worked well for the 501st photo as it could now be accommodated in a smaller location.

Many thanks go to Joy Burnham who was the official photographer for both the Rebel Legion and the 501st photos.

The 501st photo started with a gathering in the Marriott lobby and was followed by a march through the Hyatt to the photo location. To our surprise, a marriage proposal took place in the middle of the 501st Legion photo. First Celebration-II, now D*Con2k4, I suspect that this is going to become commonplace.

This year also saw the more than sucessful first "501st Droid Hunt". This was just an amazing event, and gave both 501st and convention atendees an extra bit of excitement during the convention. Congratulations to Albin, Kathy, and the droid hunt crew for a great job.

If you were wondering about the wedding proposal, she said yes.
