DragonCon (aka D*Con) is one of the largest SciFi/Fantasy conventions in the world. Occupying two hotels in Atlanta--the Hyatt Regency and the Marriott Marquis--this convention runs for four days, and attracts over 20,000 attendees annually. Three members of the Canadian Garrison attended DragonCon 2003: TK878 (me), Doug (one of our Garrison members stationed in Detroit), and SithVixen (who is stationed in Atlanta).

For me, D*Con has also been a time to meet up with friends I rarely get to see in person. During the convention I managed to attend the Rebel Legion dinner, 501st mixer and the Dented Helmet dinner. I also got an opportunity to talk shop with a few of the profesional photographers that covered the convention--it's always good to pick up tips from the pros.

As usual, during the day there was a wide variety of panels and events to attend. If for some reason, you were not interested in those, there were many fan tables (including the 501st/Rebel Legion) and huge dealer and exhibit rooms in the Marriott. The evenings were not a time to rest as the Hyatt was transformed into a huge night party.
